Where is the Theatre?

All of ATP’s performances take place at the Martha Cohen Theatre. It is located in Arts Commons, a multi-venue performing arts space, which is located between 8th Ave & 9th Ave SE and 1st Street & 2nd Street SE.

The most direct entrance to the theatre is on 8th Avenue, next to Olympic Plaza (215 8 Ave SE).

Where can I find parking?

Find complete parking information on our Getting Here page.

WHERE DO I COLLECT MY TICKETS?

Tickets can be picked up at the Martha Cohen Theatre Box Office starting one hour before show time. The Box Office is located just to the west of the theatre doors.

How early should I arrive before the performance?

Doors to the Martha Cohen Theatre open one hour before performances start. ATP productions begin promptly as scheduled. We encourage you to arrive at least 30 minutes before show time to ensure ample time for parking and to enjoy a drink in our lobby.

What if I’m late to the performance?

Every show has a designated latecomers call a few minutes into the production. You’ll be allowed to watch a video feed of the live performance in our lobby until the time that one of our ushers comes to show you to your seat. Please note, if you arrive after the show’s start you may be assigned a seat other than the one you booked. If there is an intermission in the show you are seeing, you can move to your designated seat at intermission.

Am I allowed to leave the theatre during the performance?

You are welcome to leave the theatre during the performance. However, we encourage you to visit the washroom located in the lobby of the Martha Cohen Theatre prior to the start of the performance or during intermissions.

If you must leave the theatre, you will be shown back into the theatre by our ushers at an appropriate moment during the performance. Please note, upon re-entry you may be asked to sit in a seat other than your originally assigned seat to minimize the impact to the performers and other guests.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code at Alberta Theatre Projects. Our shows are just as great in jeans or a ball gown. Come as you are and enjoy the show!

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS / VIDEOS DURING THE SHOW?

No photography or videography of the show is allowed. You can take photos of the theatre, stage and during talkbacks with artists before or after the show, or during intermission. As a courtesy to the performers we ask that you please turn off your cell phone during the performance.

Does ATP Have a bar?

ATP offers a full bar service in the lobby of the Martha Cohen Theatre. Drinks are available for purchase before the performance and during intermissions. For the ultimate convenience you can pre-order your intermission drinks at the bar before the show – just ask your bartender. Drinks are permitted in the theatre but must be in a plastic cup for safety reasons.

Free water stations are located around the theatre lobby and a public water fountain can be found across from the coat check.

DOES ATP SERVE FOOD?

Small packaged snacks including ice cream are available for purchase from our lobby bars.

As a courtesy to other guests and performers, we ask that all food be consumed in the lobby either prior to a show or during the intermission.

The nearest restaurant serving a full food menu is Cravings Bistro – located in the Centre Court area of Arts Commons. Evening hours are variable.

CAN I BRING MY BABY WITH ME TO A PERFORMANCE?

Babes-in-arms are not permitted. The recommended age is 5 years old and above. Children must have their own ticket to attend the show and be able to sit comfortably in their own seat for the duration of the performance, as a courtesy to other guests.

However, ATP holds a variety of accessible performances. Learn more about ATP’s upcoming accessible performances here.

Are size-accessible seats available?
